About Ansi Pillai MD
Dr. Ansi Pillai graduated from the University of Debrecen in Hungary before completing her residency in internal medicine at the Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. Her clinical interests include diabetes and obesity.
Dr. Pillai’s philosophy of care is to treat every patient with compassion, empathy and respect. She takes the time to understand each patient’s individual needs and believes as a team, they can come up with a plan to achieve the patient’s desired health goals.
She was inspired by her family members to pursue a career in the medical field. Growing up, her mother was a trauma nurse. Now, her sister, an emergency room physician, and her husband, a nephrologist, continuously inspire her.
To Dr. Pillai, Southcoast Health is an organization that not only supports her desire to give her patients the very best, but supplies her with the resources needed to do so.
When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.

The appointment was right on time. Dr. Pillai is very thorough with her explanations and listens carefully to my comments, concerns and questions. She is flexible and willing to let me try to work my way out trouble, and this is very motivating for me. My health has definitely improved since I started working with Dr. Pillai, and I look for to additional success in the future.

This was my first visit, I was very happy with the doctor. I felt she had a great bedside manner, was very through explaining everything i needed to know. She asked of me, she ordered a lit of blood work to try and figure out what I'd going wrong. I was very happy.
I was provided a doctor who listened and showed concerns for me about other health issues that I was not being seen first. She was absolutely wonderful.
