About Erika Mello DO
Dr. Mello earned her bachelor’s degree at Oberlin College in Ohio. She earned her medical degree from Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine in New Jersey and completed her residency at the University of Connecticut in internal medicine.
Dr. Mello is a board certified in internal medicine primary care physician and has over 12 years of experience. Her experience includes both rural and metropolitan medicine, and inpatient and outpatient care. Dr. Mello is certified in Medical Acupuncture, has training in osteopathic manipulation and knowledge of alternative therapies, supplementing her western medicine education.
She is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the New England Society of Medical Acupuncture.

She knew all about my visits and tests with another doctor
My visit went well. Everyone I dealt with - the two women in the reception area, the medical assistant- i was professional, polite and friendly. The facility is always very clean - spotless.Dr. Mello is easy to discuss issues with; she is kind, professional and a great listener. She has been my PCP for many years.
Dr Mello and her medical assistant were very thorough. I never felt rushed. I was able to voice concerns and felt validated.
The new system recording the appointment was to give the provider more time to spend with me but I felt it didn't change. More concerned about the recording and typing then facing me eye contact. This time I was not impressed.
Dr Mello sees me promptly, listens to me carefully, and always has my best interests at heart.
I appreciate Dr Mello and her staff taking the time to educate themselves about my disease, which is really only beginning to be recognized and treated. They were honest about their initial lack of knowledge, then fixed it. All while treating me with care and respect. It is not easy to find a doctor who will treat ME/CFS. I am grateful to have found one.
I was provided an appointment when I called in very quickly. Nurse was extremely friendly and helpful! Front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful!Md not as friendly but helpful!
This provider is absolutely excellent, always answers my questions, I never feel rushed and she's very busy. So I just think Dr. Mello is the best. Thank you.

I had to sit in the exam room for over half an hour before the doctor came in to check me.
This was my Wellness Visit. Dr. Mello and her medical assistant always listen to my concerns. They seem interested in my life as well as my health.
Good interaction with staff and PCP Erika Mello. Thorough review of my labs and discussed my conditions and gave me thoughtful recommendations for future treatment course. She is easy to talk with and explains everything very well. I am happy to have her as my new PCP.
Everything was great. The staff was excellent. When I checked in the woman who took care of me was probably one of the most positive and friendlest people I've ever dealt with in that office. I was seen 75 minutes after my appointment time started, it was an early morning appointment so there was not a lot of time for it to get behind. It was frustrating to wait an hour in the room to be seen for 10 minutes.

I saw the doctor and she was very thorough with my visit She listin to me and she told me ways to take care of my heath she did asked me meny of questions about what was wrong with me she even told me ways to take care of my self . My doctor is the best I like that she is so thorough and I will continue seeing her

Dr Mello and her staff are always wonderful. I arrived 18 months ago, having moved to RI from OH. I have a disease that is not part of medical training. Dr Mello was honest about her lack of knowledge at that time, but has made the effort to learn. I believe that, in the future, she will be able to offer me care that I must travel to NYC for currently.
The doctor seems to understand my difficulty getting around. Will only have to see her on an annual basis unless I need to address a problem
From the check in to the check out and seeing the physician -everyone was extremely pleasant.

Dr. Mello is a great provider! I have been dealing with weight issues and she is extremely patient with me is a partner in my health journey. She prescription me medication but I ultimately decided not to take it. She has been helping me with this decision for 2 years and is always helpful and encouraging with whatever I decide. I'm grateful for her care.

All personnel well kind and courteous. Dr. Mello was very compassionate and took time (I was not rushed out like with most doctors) and she really listened. She asked me many questions about my health and history of procedures and she took the time to educate me regarding the procedure she did for me. And the cost was very fair.
