About Douglas Garland PA-C
Douglas Garland, PA-C, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, MA. He developed his expertise in the medical field when he completed a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He has nearly 30 years of experience as a physician assistant, specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Douglas’s personal philosophy of care is to treat all of his patients as he would wish to be treated. By paying close attention to his patients’ medical history and needs, he cares for them efficiently and effectively. Douglas makes sure to focus his care on the whole person with empathy and compassion.
Douglas’s commitment to community has always been evident. Before his time as a physician’s assistant, he served in the Peace Corps on an outer island in Fiji. He also volunteers annually at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a camp for children with major medical issues.
Outside of work, Douglas enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and ice hockey, sailing, fishing and playing the guitar.

Friendly, attentive and informative
Dr.Garland was very understanding and very patient with all my questions. He was extremely caring on removing my stitches when a couple of them were hard to remove.The girls putting on my splint were also very kind as was the girl taking my x-rays.I liked that I was able to see my x-rays before I left.Thank you….

Explained diagnosis and treatment options for swan neck finger fracture clearly. Additionally, this Dr treated a superficial hand/skin wound, dressed it and offered treatment advice.

Please turn off volume of television in waitong area, its loud and no one watches it...perhaps mute and put on closed captions? Very annoying
Dr.Bruegel was very thorough compassionate and attentive. I was very pleased with my care and grateful for her expertise. The office staff also was wonderful. I was able to get my appointments quickly including getting me on the OR and OT schedule in a timely manner
Very satisfied with everything.
Excellent care from Dr. Brugel and her staff. My surgery was so smooth and she did a meticulous job on my right hand. I am already doing exercises at home and I start OT next week. I have full range of motion my right hand which is remarkable. I haven't had this in a long time. It feels great!!

I was able to get an appointment with one day notice. Mr. Garland was an excellent communicator, showed me my X-rays to explain the source of pain, and reviewed treatment options. He administered a hydrocortisone injection skillfully and explained follow up care. I would recommend him to friends.
