About Patricia DeGroot MD
Dr. Patricia DeGroot earned her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.
She has proudly served in the United States Air Force
She was inspired to become a physician having grown up in a large family and having a great interest in science, and feels that she was “born” to do her work. She believes that every patient has a story and that this is an integral part of why she loves her work. Taking care of next-generation patients whom she has delivered has been particularly heart-warming.
When not at work, she loves to sail and dance. To Dr. DeGroot, Southcoast Health means quality healthcare dedicated to its community.

Dr. DeGroot is very invested in my care.
Was seen by Dr. Degroot. No bedside manner, no eye contact. Didn't ask if I had any concerns or questions. Rushed and out the door after 2 mins. Waited 35 minutes.
Everyone in the office is always so nice and friendly and make you feel comfortable. I moved and still travel to this office
A pleasant experience all around
This is my 2nd time with Dr Degroot. She always treats me with respect. She is very knowledgeable, always had the answers and listens to me well. I felt like I was talking to a friend. I will be staying with her for my gynecological needs.
It actually felt like Dr. DeGroot cared about what I had to say and my preferences for my health and my body. She was easy to talk to and very personable. She was very educational about the reason for my visit

The provider listened to my concerns and she addressed them and offered suggestions as to what might be going on and recommended in detail care. I was very thankful. She was very kind and compassionate.
Didn't leave there feeling like my voice was heard and that she understood my issues and what was working and what wasn't. Wont see this provider again but will try a different one in the same practice
I really like this provider she's very nice and kind and seems very caring.
I have no complaints with my provider or any of the office staff. It is however usually difficult if not impossible to schedule follow ups within the time frame the provider wants. And it's difficult to make a mutually convenient appointment in an acceptable time frame
Great all around, I appreciate Dr. Degroot shes is very knowledgeable in her area, she listens and is thorough, I know I'm getting the best care, Thank you Dr. Degroot!!!
Very nice and took her time with me
I was not able to make an appointment for my next yearly exam because the calendar for August of 2026 was not out yet. I was told to call in December or January to book my next appointment. It would've been nice had I been able to book it yesterday. It's not a big deal, but just a minor inconvenience.
Professional, polite, caring
I didn't feel like I was listened to, however I know that providers are busy and have other patients to get to. I didn't feel like I could get a full sentence out without being spoken over.
