About John Carroll MD
Dr. Carroll is co-Chief of Urology for Southcoast Hospitals.
He earned his Medical Degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He completed an internship and residencies in Surgery and Urology at New England Medical Center in Boston, where he served as chief resident in Urology.
He has special interest and expertise in urologic oncology, urolithiasis and pediatric urology and women’s incontinence. He has extensive experience in laparoscopic urology procedures.
He is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Urology at Tufts University School of Medicine where he has received an “Excellence in Teaching” award.
He is a diplomat of the American Board of Urology and a member of the American Urological Association.

I arrived early, registered on line, and was brought in about 20 minutes after the appointment time. I then waited another 40 minutes in the exam room for the doctor to tell me everthing was good. This could have been done on phone in 10 minutes.

This was a follow-up visit with Dr. Carroll. I have fully recovered from my Jan 2026 TURP surgery and at 74 feel like a new person thanks to Dr. Carroll whose expertise and caring has given me my life back. I now have a clear plan for this important aspect of my health and could not be more grateful to him and his staff. The office support staff is also top notch. They are professional, kind, caring, and know how vital it is to do a good job for patients. I will recommend Dr. Carroll to anyone who has urology issues and needs the best care from a great doctor.

The provider was 40 minutes late. That's not really acceptable. I also felt rushed. He's a great doctor and I'd recommend highly but the wait is a bit much and would not be tolerated if I was the one running.

Was greeted by the staff very welcoming. I was brought into the exam room by the medical assistant right away. She was very friendly and listened to my concerns. She assisted in getting me into a new primary care doctor in the Southcoast Health system. DR Carroll came in and explained what was happening and explained my surgery very clearly. He arranged an appointment with Dr [Name] pre surgery. Very happy with my whole visit.

Dr Carroll explained in detail what I was questioning. He was really concerned and went over my records in full with explanations of my previous findings. He made me feel comfortable that if I ever need to be seen he will always be there for me and should I need testing to just call the office so they can put it in the system
