About Dillen Bosgra MD
Dr. Dillen Bosgra was inspired to become a Family Physician by his mother who is an emergency room nurse at the hospital in his hometown of Lacombe, Alberta, Canada.
He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology from the University of Alberta, in Alberta, Canada, before attending the Saba University School of Medicine in the Carribean Netherlands, where he received his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science degree. Dr. Bosgra then completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Stamford Hospital, Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, in Stamford, Connecticut.
His philosophy of care is centered on using evidence-based medicine where guidelines are applied to provide the highest quality care. With each patient, he hopes to learn their intricacies to best tailor their care to meet the patient’s goals. Incorporating shared decision making, he wants to ensure his patients truly understand that his approach to medicine is to try and help achieve each of their health goals and improve their overall life.
Outside of family medicine, his clinical interests include lifestyle medicine, substance use disorder, sleep, cardiology, and chronic disease management.
To him, working at Southcoast Health means going further than prescribing the right medications. It’s about listening, developing relationships and being an advocate for patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Bosgra stays active cycling, lifting weights, and playing pickleball and golf. He also enjoys spending time with his 2 dogs and wife.

Southcoast has a wonderful team of people. I've never had a negative experience at any Southcoast facility. Dr. Bosgra is very caring & kind and I have trust in him. The staff from check in to check out are awesome. The nurse that checks my vitals and goes over my meds. is wonderful, she always makes me laugh with her and makes me feel like I'm among friends.
The doctor is new for us and we think he's great. He explains everything in detail and his nurses provide the same information. Explain everything in detail and we love it and they are great to even speak to.

Having a physician listen and work in tandem for a particular goal is immense.
This was only my second or third time, third visit there, but I was very happy with the visit with the doctor. The only problem was I went at one o'clock and maybe the girls were at lunch, so it took a little longer to check in, but they said that they were shorthanded. So things like that happened, but everything, everybody was polite.
Dr Bosgra is an excellent pcp.
