About Samantha Roy FNP-C
Samantha earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, in Dartmouth, Ma. She them went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
She believes in a holistic approach to patient care and in building a trusting patient-provider relationship. She feels that these two components are necessary to help patients achieve positive outcomes.
Her personal relationships with nurses and nurse practitioners were a big inspiration to her having become a Family Nurse Practitioner. She admires the way they encompassed a trusting relationship and the wealth of knowledge they always seemed to have.
To her, being a nurse practitioner allows her to be able to treat patients across the lifespan, she believes it fosters a trusting long-term patient-provider relationship.
Samantha grew up and has family in the south coast. She started her nursing career right here at Southcoast Health while in nursing school. She then continued at Southcoast, upon graduating, as an RN. Today, she continues as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
When not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and their dog. Together they enjoy spending time in the outdoors, boating, hiking, and skiing.
