About Francesca Friel NP
Francesca Friel started her medical education earning an Associate of Science in Nursing at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. She then furthered her medical expertise, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. Francesca then completed her Master in Science, Family Nurse Practitioner, at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Francesca’s personal philosophy of care is seeing and treating patients beyond their “chief complaint”. It is important to her to understand what situational factors are contributing to their current state, both good and bad. She has always had a deep respect for her healthcare providers throughout her life and they inspired her to choose the same field of work.
When not at work, she spends her time cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

This Nurse Practitioner was absolutely amazing—friendly, compassionate, and truly dedicated to women's health. I was in urgent need of an OBGYN to get testing scheduled for my situation, and she went above and beyond. She personally called multiple offices and even reached out directly to a physician. Despite being told they were fully booked, she didn't give up. Thanks to her persistence, she secured me an appointment for this afternoon.I was genuinely blown away by the level of support, advocacy, and care she provided.

Waited 20 minutes to go in exam room. Person who took me in was polite and asked how I was doing. Then I waited for nurse more time. She came in and said I was there for blood pressure check. She then said she would get me out quickly. Never asked about my recent Covid illness. She didn't seem to know anything about me at all. She was not prepared. I spent more time waiting to see her than I spent time with her.

I felt that I was heard when I voiced my concerns about certain things about my health.
The nurse practitioner was extremely professional, knowledgeable and understanding. My visit was comprehensive and she took the time to review my extensive record and to formulate a plan. I felt that she was individualizing my care instead of following just algorithms that many health professionals implement. My NP was impressively knowledgeable,Open minded and definitely was a critical thinker.. a real pleasure to meet her and be well cared for.

Francesca was very informative with my ER follow up. She referred me to a cardiologist and called the care to discuss some concerns.

Francesca Friel was not my regular provider, but saw me for a sick visit as my primary care provider was unavailable. She was kind, thorough, and concerned. She reviewed my symptoms and prescribed medication and advised how to take it and proceed.

I liked the use of triage used for the appointment- excellent use of Nurse Practitioners and Doctors.This is only the third time I have to Southcoast and it was an appointment I made that day for care for a bad case of poison ivy.
I was sick and got an appointment the same day I called and was treated well.
The PA Francesca was really thoughtful and skillful in her care. She was one of the best providers I've seen in recent memory. She covered several important facets of my care which was complicated because I had to travel the next day. She was so helpful and personable.
