About Emily Bak MSN, WHNP-BC

Emily A. Bak, MSN, WHNP-BC, earned her Bachelor of Science from in Nursing from Worcester State University. She then went on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Regis College in Weston, MA. 

Emily believes healthcare is not one size fits all. She practices with a strong emphasis on shared decision-making, ensuring patients are educated about their options and empowered to choose what feels right for them. Preventive care is a key focus of her practice, and she works with patients to support long-term health and wellness.

Her clinical interests include general OB/GYN services, endometriosis, pelvic pain, infertility, menopause management, and well-woman care. Emily is committed to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care that is tailored to each patient’s needs.

Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Emily worked for five years as a Registered Nurse in diverse clinical settings, including gynecology and urology surgery, oncology, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and complex surgical care. This broad background informs her thoughtful and well-rounded approach to patient care.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends. She is also passionate about animal rescue and adoption.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?

Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?

Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?

Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
