About Catherine Cioe PA-C
Catherine’s medical education started at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island. After that, she completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI.
Catherine’s philosophy of care is to treat patients with the same time and dedication that she would invest into the people closest to her. She tries to understand the patient’s individual goals because it is different for each person. She takes the time to explain different conditions to patients because it is important to their overall health and wellbeing.
Catherine has experience in internal medicine and orthopedics. Her clinical interests include knee and sports medicine injuries. Outside of work, she enjoys running and going to the beach.

I never felt rushed in all my concerns were explained fully.

This is the third time (I think) that I have sought Cathy Cioe to deal with stiffness and pain in my knees. Each time, she has brought me relief. Of course, I would recommend her. She has a proven record with me. What should she do to improve? Nothing. Keep doing what you do!
Catie, was a wonderful provider. She went above and beyond making a call to my insurance to get a CT approved. It's always a pleasure to have my appointments with her
The ortho team has been absolutely wonderful managing my severe knee arthritis and subsequent total knee replacement procedure. I am very optimistic about my recovery and ultimate reduction of my symptoms. Kudos to all.

Doc Catherine is the best and the rest of the crew
Today was my first time with seeing Dr Cioe. She was very professional and knew about my issues with my shoulders. She explained a plan that she thinks would work with me and I agreed. She referred me to a specialist about a cortisone shot. She spent time with me and explained thoroughly.
All staff were courteous and I was seen in a timely manner. The dr. listened and made suggestions to help me.
This was another postop visit after three months of a total hip replacement. I couldn't thank my PA enough for her kindness and help with me during this journey. I'm so lucky to have had great specialists and this team work with me along the way on two total hip replacements in 2026. They were truly the best and gave me my life back.
Catherine answered my questions clearly, addressed my concerns and provided specific information about my case. Thank you very much.

When she walked in she remembered me from a previous visit and remembered what i had been there for. She was kind and courteous.
Everyone was respectful and helpful and knowledgeable about my situation.Please consider moving the office to a space much closer to the door or elevator. For someone with knee issues, walking that far can be painful. Yes, there are wheelchairs, but those are not helpful if you are by yourself or they are not available. Thank you

Entire experience was very helpful and informative
Catherine was excellent. As I was very concerned about a denied surgery she assured me she would do everything in her power to rectify the situation. I left her office feeling much better than whenI walked in. Result: the surgery has been approved. Hope to see her again to thank her calming demeanor!

Cathy Cioe not only is expert at what she is doing, but she reads my lengthy health notes before I come in for treatment. I believe this is my third time visiting her for cortisone injections. Her last two treatments were spot on; this one is showing signs of being just as effective. Already I feel relief in both knees. In addition, she is personable and caring.
Kate made me feel very comfortable while discussing my procedure. I was very pleased with her knowledge and in the way she encouraged me to ask questions. Kate is a 10 on your grading scale.
