About Marcelo Montorzi MD
Dr. Marcelo Montorzi earned his medical degree from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in the Province of Mendoza, Argentina. He completed his post-doctorate research fellowship in Biochemistry and Biophysics at Harvard Medical School Center for Biochemical and Biophysical Sciences in Boston, MA. Subsequently, he completed his internship and residency program in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA and his clinical fellowship in Internal Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
Dr. Montorzi’s clinical interest is in general clinical medicine. He developed a progressive interest in medicine from interaction with his parents, both medical doctors that trained in Sweden. During medical school he developed an interest in all fields of human biology, biochemistry, biophysics. His interest in general medicine crystalized after graduation during his work as a post-doctoral fellow in biochemistry and biophysics.
Dr. Montorzi’s personal philosophy of care is rooted in honoring the trust that he receives from his patients, practicing his profession with conscience and dignity. It is of upmost importance to make his patients’ health be his first consideration, not allowing any discrimination to affect his duty to his patients, and upholding an utmost respect for human life while protecting the privacy of his patients and the secrets confided in him.
Outside of work, Dr. Montorzi enjoys arts, nature, geology, general science, and artificial intelligence. He has done multiple climbs throughout the Central Andes where he also was a mountain guide.

I ALWAYS leave my appointment feeling heard, well cared for and always satisfied with Dr Montorzi and his staff. He is very well informed on medications that may help, potential reasons for my symptoms, and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to determining what my issue may be. I NEVER feel rushed. Everything was fine. Quick and I appreciate being able to get lab work done right after Dr. visit. In the past we had to come back later in the day for lab work which makes it hard if you have to get back to work. Also I have to say the girl who took my blood in the lab was excellent. Didn't have any discomfort all.

If I could rate dr Montorzi higher I would. My only complaint about the facility is many of the support staff are on their phones. I don't think it's a good look and implied indifference and a lack of constructive work.

Dr. Montorzi is wonderful. He knows my history, he listens and he explains everything in a way I understand. The issue I had was a 45 minute wait. I checked in online and then checked in when I arrived. For some reason the back didn't get the message that I was there. The wonderful lady who assisted when checking me out was outstanding.

Dr. Montorzi has been my PCP for many years. Without his outstanding medical care and expertise, I would not be here today. This is a true statement. His patients are very fortunate as is Southcoast Health.
Nobody likes to wait in the waiting room when they arrive. Everything ran smoothly like clockwork. Didn't have to sit around waiting when I had an appointment for a certain time. If you have an appointment for a certain time, people want to be seen at that time, not an hour later like I've seen in other facilities.
Very good with being informative about goals and about future visits. Meds were explained going forward.

I have no complaints. If you look at my medical history I've had several major issues in the past two or three years. I truly believe doctor went towards the in the staff at South Coast save my life. I am also extremely happy with the nurses there. Anytime I had questions I would send a message and get a quick response from someone in the office that would help me. I am extremely satisfied
