About Nicholas Martin MD, CAQSM
Nicholas Martin, MD, CAQSM attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Science. He then obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. He remained at the UMass Chan Medical School where he completed a residency in Family Medicine through the Barre Family Health Center and a fellowship in Primary Care Sports and Exercise Medicine. He is board certified through the American Board of Family Medicine and holds an additional certification in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Martin’s philosophy of care is based on the idea that physicians should always strive to find the right treatment, for the right patient, at the right time. He believes the key to finding the best outcome for each patient comes from taking a holistic look at the numerous factors that impact a patient’s health. Having personally struggled with sports related injuries as a young athlete, Dr. Martin remembers the way his physician made him feel understood as a patient and he aims to provide the same level of care in his practice.
Throughout his training, he had the opportunity to work with team physicians, covering football, hockey, baseball, basketball, and mass participation events. As part of his fellowship, Dr. Martin was able to serve as a team physician for the Worcester Red Sox as well as collegiately at the Division I, II, and III levels with local schools including College of the Holy Cross and Assumption University. Attending these games and working with these teams gave him the opportunity to witness the great impact Sports Medicine has on the ability to help players bounce back and return to doing what they love after an injury.
When not at work, Dr. Martin can be found watching whichever Boston sports team is playing, working on DIY projects, woodworking, and spending time with his wife and two cats. He also volunteers as a mentor at his alma mater, Northeastern University, working with college students to help prepare them for their education and careers in medicine.

Front reception staff were excellent. The nurse [Name] was exceptional as well and Dr. Martin was a kind, compassionate and clearly a competent physician. He's a gem and fortunate to have been referred to him.
Dr Martin explained the risks of getting a cortisone shot and explained the procedure in detail. I was extremely happy with his service and highly recommend him. He has to be the best doctor that I've been to in my 10 years of shoulder issues.

Dr. Martin explained everything in an easy to understand manner making it easy to make decisions on the next step to treat the persistent elbow pain.
The staff was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond as well as the Dr.
As usual it's hard to improve on perfection.
The building was very difficult to find. There was not a sign outside indicating that I was in the correct place. Inside the building had many handmade signs directing me where to go, but nothing official.

I was there for a injection. He came in, spoke to me, discussed the situation. I'm due for a surgery. He explained in detail how I have to wait three months for surgery after any shot. Got the scheme six months out, so figured out a timeline for when I want my surgery. And when my last shot can be, Dr. Martin's great.

My visit to Dr. Martin was intended to provide me with relief from pain in my right shoulder - the result of a terribly arthritic joint and torn rotator cuff. It is evening now, and I do feel relief already. I am grateful for his intervention.

Excellent, professional staff!My only criticism is the physical plant.The old red brick building at 1565 N. Main St.,Fall River has quality office space. However,the parking lot, outside access, huge potholes & general dumpy environs is truly pathetic for a healthcare system like SouthCoast!

Dr. Martin was very professional and put me at ease. He explained everything in a considerate and kind way. He gave me three options and said to take my time. He was great. The only problem was I had to wait 15 minutes to check in because they had only one staff checking in and she was on the phone with a patient for the whole time. She apologized to me but maybe have two staff to check in.
