About Michael Gerlach DMS, MSPA, PA-C
Michael Gerlach attended Seton Hall University where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Physician Assistant. He then furthered his medical expertise, earning his Doctor of Medical Science at Shenandoah University. Currently, Michael works for Southcoast Urology where he serves as the APP Coordinator. Michael also serves on the Board of Governors for Southcoast.
His personal philosophy of care is that he treats his patients like they are people, and not just a number. Michael was inspired to become a Physician Assistant because of his interest in helping others and the ability to improve peoples’ lives. Michael has been a board-certified Physician Assistant since 2014.
Outside of work, Michael is an Adjunct Professor at Bryant University, Clinical Adjunct Faculty for Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and a Visiting Clinical Instructor for Regis College. He also intermittently helps to instruct Bryant University and Johnston and Whales University Physician Assistant students.
Michael currently resides in Rhode Island and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and cooking.

My original appointment was rescheduled out for almost another month at a time of not my choosing, but I made it work.The visit itself was very good. I was better examined than what my primary usually does.I do hope, however, this doesn't turn into many unnecessary tests and follow-up visits.

Went to my 2:30 appointment and got there at 2:15, at 2:50 I was still waiting, the girl that checked me in didn't check me in and I had to walk all the way back to inform her and I was called at 2:55

The time in the waiting area was longer than expected but it was obvious the office was very busy. Checking in was easy and quick. The person doing my ultrasound explained what she was doing and why. The PA was attentive, positive and pleasant. Explained reasons for symptoms and what the causes could be. Explained how different antibiotics were best for getting results I wanted.
He listened to my symptoms and adjusted my medication.
The doctor was very good, Dr. Erlach. He explained everything that I needed to know. He was very calm and understanding, which allowed me to be calm and understand him.
