About Melanie Chitas WHNP
Melanie Chitas graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and was the project chairperson for the Mass Student Nurses Association. She then went on to further her medical expertise, graduating with honors with her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Regis College. Melanie is NCC board certified in women’s health as a Nurse Practitioner. She is MSCP certified.
Melanie’s clinical interests lie within preventative women’s health care, fertility treatments and menopausal treatments. She started her career as a nurse at Charlton Memorial Hospital before transitioning to an office nurse in the OB/GYN setting before advancing to become a women’s health nurse practitioner.
Her philosophy of care it to provide personalized care by acknowledging and listening to each patient’s individual situation, to provide compassionate care and to educate her patients and their families so that the decision making can be shared.
When not at work, Melanie enjoys camping and riding ATVs with her family.

Office was easy to get to as well as parking.Scheduling an appointment didn't take long seeing I couldn't get an appointment at all in my home state of Rhode Island. I had a visit with Melanie Chitas today to remove my IUD. Firstly, her bedside manner was absolutely perfection, making me feel less stressed & relaxed throughout my entire visit. She took the time to sit with me going over all my options while explaining each one in details. Never making me feel rushed or pushed in any way. I felt extremely comfortable with her, so I decided to change my gynecologist over to her. There should be more in the medical field just like her. Thank you, Melanie ??
