Flu & COVID-19 Vaccine Q & A:

At what age is it safe to get the Flu and COVID-19 vaccine?

For the flu and the COVID-19 vaccine, the CDC is recommending children as early as 6 months receive both.

Who can receive the Flu or COVID vaccine at Southcoast?

The vaccine clinic provides Flu and COVID vaccines to those who are 5 years and older. Those who are ages 5-11 can be scheduled at the Dartmouth clinic on limited days. Please refer to the schedule posted for those days. Those 12 and older can be scheduled at any of the three vaccine clinics.

Can I receive the COVID and the Flu vaccine at the same time?

You can receive both vaccines on the same day and save a trip! It is recommended to use opposite arms for each vaccine but not required.

Why should I get my annual Flu vaccine?

The flu vaccine can keep you from getting sick with the flu and has been shown in several studies to reduce the severity of illness in people who still get sick with the flu after being vaccinated.

What if I am immunocompromised?

People who are moderately or severely immunocompromised may get additional doses of updated COVID-19 vaccines to lower the risk of getting sick.
