Mattapoisett residents Jim and Pat Steever view the care they receive from their primary care physician, Dr. Valentina DaCunha, as both an integral part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, as well as an important aspect of staying ahead of health concerns that may develop down the road.
The Steevers’, longtime Annual Fund donors, as well as supporters of the capital campaign for the Southcoast Health Cancer Center, credit both
Dr. DaCunha and her team for their thoughtful and proactive approach to patient care.
“I tend to think of primary care as the gateway to other doctors we might need to see,” said Pat. Her husband, Jim, echoes these sentiments.
“They are great in terms of getting referrals and making sure things happen quickly,” said Pat.
“We’ve both been very fortunate with our health. Often as you age, needs develop that require care that is best served by a specialist. One of
a primary care doctor’s roles is to make those recommendations.”
“When it comes to delivering healthcare you can feel confident that the right choices are being made,” said Jim of his choice to philanthropically support Southcoast Health.
