Supporting Your Fight Against Cancer at Southcoast Health

If you are a cancer patient or survivor, we want to do everything that we can to help you cope with a diagnosis of cancer. That’s why at Southcoast Health, we offer a variety of support groups and outreach programs to help patients feel encouraged and that they’re not alone.

Interested in one of our cancer support groups in Fall River or Fairhaven, MA? Browse through the days and times below to see what might be a good fit for you.

Please keep in mind, registration is limited.  If you are interested in becoming a new participant please contact the social worker to discuss the support groups and complete a phone intake prior to registering.  Registration is open to Southcoast patients as well as patients receiving care at facilities outside of Southcoast Health.

Cancer Support Groups in Fall River & Fairhaven, MA

We offer cancer support groups at both of our Southcoast Health Cancer Center locations.

Fall River

Groups meet at the Southcoast Health Cancer Center in Fall River, located at the 506 Prospect Street behind Charlton Memorial Hospital, in the radiation oncology conference room on the first floor. (Face to Face meetings are currently on hold, we welcome you to register for a virtual support group.) 

  • Breast Cancer Support Group
    • For patients with a breast cancer diagnosis.
    • Meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
    • Meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Gynecologic Cancer Support Group
    • For patients with a gynecologic cancer diagnosis.
    • Meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
  • General Cancer Support Group
    • For patients with any cancer diagnosis.
    • Meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
  • Lung Cancer Support Group
    • For patients with lung cancer diagnosis.
    • Meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Fairhaven

Groups meet at the Southcoast Health Cancer Center in Fairhaven, located at 206 Mill Rd., in the second floor conference room. (Face to Face meetings are currently on hold, we welcome you to register for a virtual support group.) 

  • Breast Cancer Support Group
    • For patients with a breast cancer diagnosis.
    • Meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
  • Caregiver Support Group
    • For caregivers of a patient with a cancer diagnosis.
    • Meets on the third Monday of each month from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • General Cancer Support Group
    • For patients with any cancer diagnosis.
    • Meets on the first Thursday of each month from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Head & Neck Support Group
    • For patients with a cancer diagnosis in the head and neck area.
    • Meets on the second Thursday of each month from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Multiple Myeloma, Leukemia & Lymphoma (MLL) Support Group
    • For patients with a diagnosis of multiple myeloma, leukemia or lymphoma.
    • Meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
