Using Aromatase Inhibitors to Treat Breast Cancer Patients at Southcoast Health<\/h2>\n

Aromatase inhibitors are a form of hormone therapy<\/a>. These drugs lower estrogen levels in the body by blocking aromatase, a hormone in fat that converts other hormones into estrogen. This makes them an effective treatment for certain forms of cancro da mama<\/a> called hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.<\/p>\n

Breast cancer cells that have the estrogen receptor are stimulated to grow in response to estrogen. By inhibiting estrogen production, aromatase inhibitors have the ability to slow or stop breast cancer growth.<\/p>\n
