This year, Southcoast Health is proud to recognize more than 600 volunteers who serve our patients and community across the Southcoast Health System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for generously giving your time to enhance the patient experience at Southcoast Health. Your work has a direct impact on our ability to fulfill our promise of providing exceptional care from people who care,\u201d said David O. McCready, President and CEO of Southcoast Health,<\/strong> at the organization\u2019s annual Volunteer Recognition event on Friday, May 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, there were more than 600 volunteers, including the Southcoast Health Ambassadors, who donated their time to the community health system. In our hospitals, the volunteers provided more than 16,000 hours of service as baby cuddlers, caring clowns (The Southcoast Funny Bones), greeters, musical performers, patient ambassadors, and supported our gift shop, pet therapy and Reiki programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur volunteers directly contribute to the exceptional care we provide and make a positive difference in the lives of our patients, visitors and staff every day,\u201d said Donna Galotti-Kincman, Diretora dos Servi\u00e7os de Voluntariado e Gest\u00e3o de Visitantes<\/strong> at Southcoast Health. \u201cI am so grateful for each of them and their willingness to support those in need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to those volunteering in the hospitals, we thank the community members who give their time volunteering with Southcoast Health at Home and serving on the Southcoast Health Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC), the Community Benefits Advisory Council (CBAC), and the Southcoast Health System Board of Trustees. We are also grateful for the high school and college students who have decided to volunteer to learn more about future career paths in healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur volunteers\u2019 unwavering commitment and selflessness inspire us all. As our program grows each year, we continue to see the incredible kindness of those in our community. I can\u2019t wait to see all the wonderful things this group will accomplish next.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
