From Crayons to Credentials: Taylor’s Journey Comes Full Circle

You could say that Taylor Bardsley manifested her career here at Southcoast Health. It began when she would visit her mother, Donna Robillard, at Borden Medical Associates (now part of Southcoast Health Internal Medicine) where she worked as a practice specialist. Her favorite thing to do was create crayon drawings for the staff during her visits and they would proudly hang them on the wall for her to see. Today, those same walls hold something new, a framed degree that marks her incredible achievement as a nurse practitioner.
With a career spanning over seventeen years at Southcoast Health, Taylor’s story is one of determination and the power of a supportive community. At just fifteen and a half, she began volunteering in the file room for Dr. Warren Wood at Borden, eager to immerse herself in the world of healthcare. By sixteen, she had officially joined the team turning her volunteering gig into a part-time job. Her next role was Patient Access Representative, taking her first steps toward what would become a lifelong passion.
In 2016, Taylor worked as a Medical Assistant, before setting her sights on nursing school. After gaining experience at Charlton Memorial Hospital from 2018-2020, she found her way back to Borden as a triage nurse. But her journey didn’t stop there. Fueled by the unwavering support of her colleagues and mentors at Southcoast Health, Taylor took the next leap, becoming a nurse practitioner in 2024.
For Taylor, Southcoast Health has been more than just a workplace, it’s been a launchpad, a family and a place where she was encouraged to grow every step of the way. In many ways, she manifested her career here, and today, her story is a testament to what’s possible when passion meets opportunity.
