LINX es un peque\u00f1o anillo flexible de imanes del tama\u00f1o de un cuarto que se coloca alrededor del es\u00f3fago, justo encima del est\u00f3mago, para prevenir el reflujo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hasta 1 de cada 5 adultos estadounidenses padece ERGE. Millones de pacientes dependen de la medicaci\u00f3n para tratar la enfermedad. Las opciones farmacol\u00f3gicas est\u00e1n dise\u00f1adas para controlar o suprimir la producci\u00f3n de \u00e1cido en el est\u00f3mago. No abordan la causa mec\u00e1nica de la ERGE, la debilidad del m\u00fasculo del esf\u00ednter. Aproximadamente el 40% de los pacientes siguen padeciendo s\u00edntomas mientras toman medicamentos para la ERGE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La ERGE puede provocar complicaciones graves.
