Mientras los pacientes se recuperan de una operaci\u00f3n a coraz\u00f3n abierto en Hospital Charlton Memorial<\/a>Cada uno de ellos recibe una almohada de peluche con forma de coraz\u00f3n para ayudarles en su proceso de curaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Aunque son un regalo muy considerado, estas almohadas proporcionan mucho m\u00e1s que un toque reconfortante. En las semanas posteriores a la operaci\u00f3n, sirven de apoyo a nuestros pacientes cuando tosen o se mueven. Tambi\u00e9n son de gran ayuda para aliviar el dolor, ya que los pacientes pueden abraz\u00e1rselas al pecho para ejercer presi\u00f3n mientras se curan\", afirma Holly Marcello, Directora de Atenci\u00f3n al Paciente de la unidad de cuidados cardiovasculares del Charlton Memorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuando se inici\u00f3 esta tradici\u00f3n, grupos de voluntarios locales confeccionaban a mano cada una de las almohadas para nuestros pacientes. Sin embargo, a medida que nuestro programa de Southcoast Health Heart & Vascular<\/a> sigue creciendo, ahora realizamos m\u00e1s de 300 casos de coraz\u00f3n abierto al a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para ayudar a mantener el volumen de pacientes, Robinson+Cole<\/a> se prest\u00f3 generosamente a ayudar a los voluntarios donando almohadas adicionales y art\u00edculos de confort para los pacientes de las unidades de cuidados intensivos cardiovasculares y de cuidados intensivos cardiovasculares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
