Posteriormente se doctor\u00f3 en Medicina por el Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons de Nueva York.<\/p>\n<p>Complet\u00f3 una Beca de Innovaci\u00f3n en Biodise\u00f1o en el Texas Medical Center de Houston, Texas, donde desarroll\u00f3 un dispositivo m\u00e9dico que se est\u00e1 estudiando actualmente como posible nueva terapia para la insuficiencia cardiaca congestiva. Complet\u00f3 su formaci\u00f3n en cirug\u00eda cardiotor\u00e1cica en el New York Presbyterian Hospital de Columbia, donde adquiri\u00f3 una amplia experiencia en revascularizaci\u00f3n multiarterial, reparaci\u00f3n de v\u00e1lvulas, enfermedades a\u00f3rticas complejas y t\u00e9cnicas de asistencia circulatoria mec\u00e1nica.<\/p>\n<p>Jacob cree que la empat\u00eda y la compasi\u00f3n son fundamentales para ofrecer una buena atenci\u00f3n. \u00c9l siente que es su trabajo para guiar a sus pacientes y sus familias a trav\u00e9s del proceso de la cirug\u00eda card\u00edaca para que puedan sentirse c\u00f3modos y seguros. Aunque la cirug\u00eda card\u00edaca es algo que practica todos los d\u00edas, tiene en cuenta que la cirug\u00eda es una experiencia muy desalentadora para los pacientes, llena de ansiedad, incertidumbre y miedo. Todo lo que precede y sigue a la operaci\u00f3n es igualmente importante, si no m\u00e1s, para lograr un buen resultado.<\/p>\n<p>Jacob creci\u00f3 rodeado de m\u00e9dicos influyentes, como su padre y muchos t\u00edos y t\u00edas. Su padre, cardi\u00f3logo, hac\u00eda que Jacob le acompa\u00f1ara en sus rondas por el hospital. Fue all\u00ed donde pudo ver el privilegio que supon\u00eda atender a las personas y ayudarlas en momentos dif\u00edciles.
