About Theophilus Addo

Dr. Addo earned his undergraduate and medical degree in Ghana from the University of Science and Technology School of Medical Sciences. Dr. Addo completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. For the past 13 years, he has worked as a Primary Care Physician in New Bedford, Mass. as well as Newport, R.I.

Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Addo has shown his dedication to patients in the South Coast region for nearly 13 years.

  • I Never feel rushed by the provider ..

  • You guys did well by being friendly Professional and nice and understanding

  • The medical assistants are horrible no manners and very rude.

  • Dr Addo was very patient and thoughtful. Very sensitive to my health and thoughts. Sense of humor was very much and. Dr Addo was very concerned about my future of healthcare and how I could gain my ultimate goals.

  • Everything was fine, except there were technical issues with the quality of the TeleHealth phone call. Sometimes it was very difficult for my physician to hear me.

  • Telehealth may be appropriate for follow up visits, but not yearly visits.

  • Yes, I think Dr. Adderall ... Addo was very thorough with me. He went over a bunch of things with me. He's very complete and thorough. I was very pleased with him. And I'm looking forward to seeing him again sometime in April for appointment. But I think he very thorough, I'm pleased and I recommend him to any of my friends or family. And another thing is I haven't really seen him in person, but I did a video chat and I thought it was it went very well. Thank you.

  • I am not a fan of Telehealth. The only reason I agree to it is to get my prescriptions renewed.

  • The only think I can think to comment is. They did not call me in on time it was approximately 45 minutes late.

  • I need a doctor who not only listens when I speak, but understands and doesn't brush aside any concerns I may have, I am the one with the problem not the doctor. I am the one who suffers with the issue. Take the time to listen, give me the courtesy to at least try to figure it out, don't rush me out the door. To be made to feel when I leave that I may need to seek another care practitioner because I don't feel I'm getting the best care is not how I want to leave a dr appointment.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
