About J. Tessa Draper

Dr. Draper earner her bachelor’s degree at the University of Massachusetts Boston before completing her medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. She completed residency in Family Medicine at Cambridge Health Alliance and Carney Hospital through Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Draper is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Massachusetts Academy of Family Physicians and Massachusetts Medical Society. She is certified in obesity medicine. Her professional interests include addiction medicine, women’s health and quality improvement.

In her spare time, Dr. Draper enjoys hiking, independent films and music, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

  • Fantastic, no room for improvement.

  • Appointment went well, didn't wait very long. Great experience overall.

  • The nurse staff that greets you into the room could've been friendlier. Doctor was on time and professional. I do find that for any testing I've requested In the past and again at this appointment always seems to be tough in getting because seems doctor looks into possible insurance billing issues and approvals, like needs to have more reasoning For testing. Just like my first appointment ever with this provider which I thought was a physical ended up being a "meet and greet"- I had to pay for a copay and a year later is when I got my first real physical. I wish getting testing (blood tests for counts and cholesterol) didn't seem like a big deal to the provider. My other specialists never made an issue. I did get the approval for blood test at this appointment after letting her know I didn't want to wait another year, I had reasoning. I also was referred to specialist for a colonoscopy. Also once my appointment was complete I waited for a flu shot For 15 min after appointment I had to open exam room door to make sure they didn't forget about me. Doctor checked back in and called nurse.

  • Staff is always professional and courteous in person and on the phone. I get appointments very timely as well as prescription refills. [Name] who roomed me was great. Very efficient and explained everything she was doing. Dr Draper listened to my concerns and included me in plan of care. I always recommend this office!

  • I felt very comfortable going into the office with the precautions that were put in place with the PPE and I felt comfortable. The doctor was kept a distance when she examined me she used sanitizer and washed her hands and washed hands after. It made for a very good experience.

  • Great safety measures in place wit. Covid19. Dr Draper was very attentive and apprised of all of my current medical conditions with other specialties.

  • Dr. Jacqueline Draper was very formative. Then when it came to knowing when to do my lab test. I decided to log in to my chart and that's where I saw my information but I didn't know when to call for labs. I thought saw the doctor mentioned that someone was going to reach me. So the labs testing for the x-rays and a choice and I had to call back to the office sometime mid afternoon to figure out when I would I could do my testing.

  • Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Wonderful staff. Giving an ETA on when doctor calls would begin may be helpful.

  • Dr. Draper really works very hard to keep me up in line on my health care plan. She knows what I'm doing. She talks to me about many different things to improve my health care and I am very satisfied with the care that she is giving me.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
