  • I was disappointed that I was not able to see my primary doctor. Who was out of the office on 8/12. Instead saw a nurse practioner. I prefer always to see my DOCTOR.

  • Shannon Avery Desmaris is great. She discussed my health problems and listened to my concerns. She suggested a test that was due, I had forgotten about it. I feel so much more comfortable with the care I received from Shannon than even my primary care physician provides. I was not as happy with the MA who preformed my EKG. She was less than professional and mostly seemed concerned with how "slammed" the office was today. It wasn't awful but just not professional. She did not introduce herself whereas the student observing took the time to tell me her nam and why she was there.

  • Friendly and courteous staff during a pandemic and apologetic for running a little behind. They accommodated my need for an appointment quickly.

I appreciated the time she spent trying to look up a bit on my recent history with specialist and other physicians though needed to discuss actual issue versus Med note. Appreciated her answering vaccine questions related to my medical care. Exam quick probably from time of discussion. Grease or fix the height measurement tool at scale, it hard slapped/dropped down on my head. Assistance said, "It just does that sometimes."

  • Everyone was very pleasant and kind. They made me feel comfortable when I wasn't feeling comfortable. My best appointment yet!! There was no negativity which was a refreshing change

  • Was a scheduled routine physical until changed to telehealth the afternoon before. Sadly , at 8:00 am, there are too many ears around to speak candidly about things one could normally talk about in the privacy of an office. Also, you can't see the patient ( in my case a small leftover wound that is unsightly but not bothersome) ( I did not bring it up)

  • My visit was with the NP Shannon. She was very informative and went the extra mile to help with the next step in my treatment. She was very professional and listened to me.

  • During the appointment I Was Made comfortable. It was easy to talk to Shannon and she listened to me and responded to all the questions that I had.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
