About Jennifer Costa

Jennifer Costa, FNP-C earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the Chamberlain College of Nursing in Downers Grove, Illinois. She furthered her expertise by earning her Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. Her clinical interests include family medicine.

Jennifer is dedicated to providing care with compassion and good communication, to improve her patients’ mental and physical health. Jennifer’s personal philosophy of care revolves around caring for each patient’s mind, body, and spirit. This holistic approach is important in helping her patients achieve health and happiness.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with loved ones, being in nature, reading, cooking, and yoga.

  • This office is always great! Juleen at the front desk was kind of enough to configure a date and time that worked with my chaotic schedule for blood work and she even called another office to try and get me in to be seen sooner. Jennifer is always amazing is listens to my concerns.

  • It was first time I met this provider. She was friendly which put me at ease. She listened and worked with me. The odd welt like rash I was seen for had a sudden onset and by the time I was seen 36 hours later many of the symptoms had disappeared. I took pictures of the rash earlier that morning which helped the provider. I called in because the rash looked unusual (different size blotches, red, welt like and sudden onset) and was found on several parts of my body and it was itchy. I felt the approach was too aggressive {prednisone, antihistamine, and fungal cream)since symptoms were dissipating at time I was seen. I agreed to using fungal cream but didn't realize a prescription for prednisone, antihistamine and fungal cream had been ordered. I only picked up the cream. My rash resolved itself. I think a more minimal approach might have been more effective like continuing to use hydrocortisone cream which had been effective and to call back if itchy rash persisted.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
