About David Adelberg

Dr. Adelberg has been a practicing orthopedic surgeon since 1989.  He earned his medical degree at Yale University and completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopedics at the George Washington University Medical Center.

Dr. Adelberg is board certified in orthopedic surgery.

  • checking in and out took a long time. And mynext appt was supposed to be in a month but actually booked more like 6 weeks out. But the place was clean and I didn't have to wait very long to be seen and my Dr was very nice and spoke in clear terms. I had a good experience and will go back as needed and would recommeme Dr Adelberg to friends

  • An opening for immediate appointment was made known to me and I was able to take it. Dr Adelberg thoroughly examined me, provided immediate medical care, and gave me encouraging information.

  • dr. adelberg is great, he knows his specialty and cares, most important.he is not a 'provider, as a puppet in the medical/industrial /insurance-complex, he is a doctor, and should be called as such. he helps people and that is why he is a doctor, not to maximize profits for an industry ceo as a 'provider.'

  • When someone's in pain and all they need is a cortisone shot which takes less than 5 minutes they shouldn't be made to wait 2 months to see the doctor!!!

  • Everything great except the frequency of office visits. After my MRI was viewed (3 torn rotator cuff tendons), I think my next visit could've been with the surgeon and then schedule surgery. Not a real bother, but just seemed like the 2nd ortho visit was redundant to 1st. Otherwise, again, great system and team in Dartmouth :]

  • When I contacted this office, an appointment was scheduled very rapidly, I was really happy and grateful. When I arrived at the office I was treated and I do appreciate the treatment that I received by the doctor.

  • Dr. Adelberg is a beautiful doctor. I've had it since I was 8. He took care of my first broken bone my foot. My everybody was great there. I got the appointment with my orthopedic doctor very soon, and he did a great job, and I'm proud to have them as my doctor. Thank you.

  • The front desk staff was not very friendly. I had to wait until they finished talking to each other before I was checked in. I then didn't know if I needed to check out and the woman made me wait for a while then was very rude about informing me that I did not have to check out and I was all set. The provider and technician were so nice and professional. Work on front desk professionalism.

  • The office itself checking in and Dr. Adelberg were absolutely amazing, but it took me 20 minutes on hold just to get through to find out if I was able to go in with my husband and the lady that I spoke with was not polite was not kind and acted like she did not care. I just needed to know is it worth my while to go with my husband and then would I be turned away and not be able to go into the appointment with him and she could not give me a straight answer. This has nothing to do with the actual office itself. Not the office staff and has everything to do with the the person answering the phone. Just kind of like the general person not happy with her at all. And the hold time is*

  • I felt comfortable. I felt like they are working with my pain to lessen it,The doctor had a great attitude, he explained and answered all the questions that I had.I am waiting for the pain to go away, or subside, to see if the injection is what was required.

  • Everyone has mastered their positions (job) Every question I had on my mind they brought it up and it was answered for me. They are exceptionally highly trained healthcare workers and love their positions (jobs) which meant a lot to me because it's very important that someone loves their job. It makes for a better atmosphere and comfortable for the patient

  • These are hard times but no excuse for the person at the check in/ check out desk to be cold and indifferent. They should be grateful they have jobs and they are healthy. They need to be more compassionate and understand that the person in front of them is a human being that is worried about their medical issue. The medical assistant was kind, listened, and informative. Doctor was patient, kind and listened to my explanation of what was wrong. He took his time diagnosing the aliment. Then proceeded to explain what I needed to do.

  • This review is only about Dr David Adelberg. The office staff is great! Office very organized and responsive. I've been a patient of Dr A for years and he's always been great to me. I do not feel this way about the other surgeon in this office.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
