Dr. Adelberg has been a practicing orthopedic surgeon since 1989.  He earned his medical degree at Yale University and completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopedics at the George Washington University Medical Center.

Dr. Adelberg is board certified in orthopedic surgery.

  • Dr. Adelberg made me more comfortable about the issue with my knee and told me that he's there if I need him

  • Very pleasant. Explained thoroughly y problem. Used charts to show the differences inknee cartilage. Showed me my name x-rays going overthedetails. Took a picture with my camera phone so I could show and explained n to my family. Exceptionally satisfied with my visit Dr. Very knowledgeable.

I had a knee replacement 6 months ago withu00A0u00A0[Name] and he retired so I followed up with Dr. Adelberg because he was the doctor I started seeing first for my knee. So I came back to see him. He is very attentive and caring. He listens to me and asks me if I have any questions.

  • I was particularly impressed by Dr. Adelberg and staff, Dr. Adelberg immediately had a grasp of the issue that I was there to address. I, he dealt with it in a manner that explained exactly what my problem was. And provided me with the treatment that I thought was seemed to be more than appropriate and explained everything perfectly. And I would not hesitate to ever recommend him again, as a an orthopedist. He's absolutely delightful and credit to your organization.

  • From beginning of my appointment until the end I was treated with respect from the doctor as well as the nurses, they was very concerned about my issues and explained everything to me so I understand

  • I felt rushed when in the room with the doctor. I expected to get another shot for my pain. I was asked it would be up to me weather I wanted to have surgery or deal with the minor pain that I have. I chose to deal with the minor pain. The doctor told me to continue to exercise. And that was that. In and out in about 7 mins. Also when I looked at his notes on my chart. He mentioned the pain in my left shoulder. And all along it is my right shoulder. It felt like a waste of time and money. I felt like he had more important things on his mind. That is just my honest opnion.

One suggestion is to maybe slow down a bit. He is so incredibly knowledgeable that it seems he's ten steps ahead of the patient. Patients have questions and need a moment to absorb what he's saying. [Name] was very pleasant, professional and patient-focused. It may seem like a small item and something everyone "should" do but when I was waiting in line and she had to leave her desk to escort someone somewhere in the office she acknowledged that I was in line and that she would be right back instead of just walking by me. Of course, I completely understand that she had to escort someone. She didn't just ignore the patient though - like so many people do. She made great eye contact and was friendly and efficient. Thank you.Also, [Name] in x-ray was pleasant, professional, efficient, patient-focused and skilled in taking images of areas that hurt to not further distress patients. Thank you.Kristen, the medical assistant, was also friendly, pleasant, professional and efficient. I did not see her wearing a name tag (one of my pet peeves of sorts) but she did introduce herself, which I like and appreciate. Thank you.My one suggestion for the office is that [Name] didn't seem to have the same friendliness and patient-focus that the others did. She seemed like she didn't want to be there and that patients were a bother to her.Dr. Adelberg, [Name], [Name] and [Name] are exemplary. I wish they could be my care providers in every office I go to. Thank you.

  • I was treated with courtesy. The problem was explained to me very well with the possible treatment outcomes. I was in sever pain with my diagnosis previously. The Dr provided treatment that instantly relieved my pain. I was so happy with the visit and I'm grateful the reception staff did everything they could to get me into to see a physician.

I suggest that you start calling him a doctor and not a provider because he's not a puppet for the medical industrial complex. He's an actual doctor and should be treated with respect, especially by people who are conducting this survey you are likely from the medical insurance industry trying to minimize their profit... minimize their cost for the shareholders. So kindly call him what he is, which is a doctor and us as what we are, patients, and not consumers. But thank you very much and please give him our best.

  • checking in and out took a long time. And mynext appt was supposed to be in a month but actually booked more like 6 weeks out. But the place was clean and I didn't have to wait very long to be seen and my Dr was very nice and spoke in clear terms.   • My appointment was with a different dr and when being put in a room I was switched to Dr Attleburg against my wishes. He was rude, did not let me speak and rushed me out of the room. I completely shut down and asked a few times if I could speak and ask some questions. He was very dismissive of my concerns, pain and issue. I was there to co tinge care as I could not have surgery the year prior due to pregnancy. This was a horrible experience and all I could do when I got to my car was cry.

  • dr. adelberg is great, he knows his specialty and cares, most important.he is not a 'provider, as a puppet in the medical/industrial /insurance-complex, he is a doctor, and should be called as such. he helps people and that is why he is a doctor, not to maximize profits for an industry ceo as a 'provider.'

  • When someone's in pain and all they need is a cortisone shot which takes less than 5 minutes they shouldn't be made to wait 2 months to see the doctor!!!

  • Everything great except the frequency of office visits. After my MRI was viewed (3 torn rotator cuff tendons), I think my next visit could've been with the surgeon and then schedule surgery. Not a real bother, but just seemed like the 2nd ortho visit was redundant to 1st. Otherwise, again, great system and team in Dartmouth :]

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
