Christopher Cheney, MD, PhD
About Christopher Cheney
Dr. Cheney earned a PhD in molecular biology from Albany Medical College before going on to receive his MD from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology from Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. During his military career, he served as a staff gastroenterologist and USUHS faculty member. He has been in private practice since 2000, the year he retired as a Colonel in the US Army after 24 years of continual service.
He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
In addition to seeing patients in Greater New Bedford, Dr. Cheney serves as a member of the board of trustees for Southcoast Health.
