About Binu Oien

Dr. Oien earned her bachelor’s degree at Fordham University before completing her medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency as a Doctor of Osteopathic Family Medicine at Kent Hospital in Warwick, R.I.

Dr. Oien is a member of American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and American Academy of Family. She is also a May 2015 inductee into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine Chapter in Biddeford, ME.

In her free time, Dr. Oien can be found taking walks with her husband, son, daughter, and dog. She also enjoys jazz, reading, knitting, traveling, yoga, cooking and being outdoors

  • Experience was great

  • My goals for the meeting were met. The doctor ordered a blood test to check cholesterol, and I asked to stop taking one prescribed med for blood pressure. I provided BP readings that indicate I may be able to be off the med. I will continue to take readings. I will also work to lose 20 lbs, as this may also help with blood pressure. We meet again in two months. As a new patient, I am pleased with service, so far.

  • I drove to this appointment, just to be told that I had to do telehealth because I am a healthcare provider. Screening should be done before the time of the appointment.

  • Dr. Oien and the facility is the best in my opinion for serving individuals who require guardianship because they can not communicate what is wrong. Dr.Oien and Dr.[Name]and the Nurse practitioners at Southcoast Family practice in Westport Ma care about their patient because they listen and they don't take anything for chance this leading to better care and less urgent care or emergency care experiences. Which is the opposite of other southcoast facilities we have been to.

  • I haven't been to the doctors in almost 8 years, and was apprehensive about this visit. Dr. Oien was incredibly kind, along with the nurse I spoke to. She listened to everything I had to say, never rushed me, and provided me with options for the next steps in my care. This entire interaction blew any and all of my other doctors interactions out of the water.

  • It was an intake, so my interactions were fairly limited. But overall, everything was fine.

  • Everyone was super nice. I had an appointment at 8 and didn’t get to talk to anyone until 8:50. It was relatively quick after that with my appointment ending at 9:10.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
