About Alexa Raymond

Alexa Raymond, MD is a graduate of the premedical program at Columbia University and received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. She interned at Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J. and completed her residency at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine/brown University Family Medicine program in Providence.

Dr. Raymond is board certified in Family Practice and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Her clinical interests include women’s health, children and adolescent health, sports medicine, nutrition and preventive health.

She believes in being proactive with health and taking good care of one’s self through exercise and nutrition.

Dr. Raymond enjoys spending time with her three active children and dog. She also enjoys exercising, reading, cooking and going to the beach.

  • The front desk person was polite and professional.[Name] the Medical Assistant, was polite and professional.Dr. Raymond is a true delight. She greets me as if we are old friends, and that she is happy to see me, and she talks with me about my issues as if she genuinely cares. What a great asset to the team!Please extend a Thank You to each of them.

  • Phone service needs improving. Cut myself on Saturday, dressed my wound and found it still bleeding on Monday; called to get medical attention and placed on hold for 10 min after which I hung up. Still bleeding on Tuesday I called again, place on hold and after 15 min a person picked up the call.After explaining my situation I was told that my PCP was on vacation and advised to go to the hospital ER. After protesting this as excessive and insisting that all I needed was to have it examined by a doctor I was then given an appointment as an "Urgent Care" patient.I do want to thank and compliment Dr. Raymond for the excellent care and instruction she gave me in caring for my wound. I would highly recommend her to anyone with a medical need seeking a Physician.

  • Regarding this provider Alexa Raymond, I would highly recommend her. I have multiple comorbities and most doctors could not possibly keep up with all of the specialists / reports / visits and things going on with me on a day to day basis. I often have last minute health needs as my health status is very dynamic and she always makes time for me to address a health problem. She is intelligent, empathetic, quick thinking, compassionate, and remembers all of my many allergies and often my extensive health history. She and her assistant are great at responding to any questions I send through the portal. Being a partner in my own care is important to me and she respects that and she includes me in any important healthcare decisions that need to be made / very important for a patient with long term chronic diseases. I am very thankful to have someone like her as my primary care physician.

  • Ensuring staff knows how to electronically send required forms to a parent, in the event that a parent is unable to be present to do so in-person, so that the appointment has no delays or cancellation.

[Name] the nurse practitioner was was very nice, friendly and professional in greeting me and in gathering pre-exam information The Exit Assistant was very helpful and patient with me. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
