Aileen Souza, MD earned her Bachelor of Science degree with distinction, in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA. She then furthered her expertise by earning her medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. Dr. Souza is the former Chief Resident of Education for family medicine at Brown University in Providence, RI. Her clinical interests include pediatrics, gender care, and chronic disease management.
Dr. Souza was inspired to get into healthcare after attending many doctors’ appointments with her Spanish speaking family members, and saw the immense difference that was made when the provider spoke Spanish and a translator was not needed. She chose family medicine specifically as it provides the ability to care for families as a whole. Her personal philosophy of care is centered around putting the effort in to meet patients where they are. She truly believes in developing care plans that allow her to navigate the many unique barriers that patients may face.
When not at work, Dr. Souza enjoys baking for friends and family, reading, and spending time with her family and three cats.
