Celebrating Excellence with the 2025 Southcoast Health Volunteer of the Year Awards

This spring at Southcoast Health’s annual volunteer luncheon, the organization celebrated their many wonderful volunteers and recognized them for the support they provide to patients and the community. Their selfless dedication makes a lasting impact across the health system and at the event four individuals were honored for their outstanding contributions.

“Our Southcoast Health Volunteer of the Year Award recipients exemplify the heart and spirit of our mission. Volunteers directly contribute to the exceptional care we provide and make a difference in the lives of our patients, visitors and staff every day,” said Donna Galotti-Kincman, Manager of Volunteer Services and Visitor Management at Southcoast Health. “With over 200 volunteers across the region, we offer many services and continue to challenge ourselves by introducing new programs, such as the Southcoast Health Funny Bones (Caring Clown Troupe).”

  • Arthur “Butch” Paul – Charlton Memorial Hospital

Arthur joined the volunteer program in 2019 and dedicates his time assisting staff in the Charlton Memorial Hospital Surgery Center waiting room. He escorts patients to their testing sites and is also a great asset in welcoming new volunteers by offering his guidance.

Shannon first joined the Southcoast Health Volunteer Program in 2020, committing her time to the Southcoast Health Baby Cuddler Program where she offers warmth and comfort to new babies and their families in the Family Centered Unit. Southcoast Health volunteers contribute in various ways from managing gift shops to playing the piano in the hospital lobbies and supporting Southcoast Health’s fundraising events. They are a valued part of the Southcoast Health team and an essential resource to the region.

“Our volunteers’ unwavering commitment and generosity inspire us all,” said Kimberley Coon, Executive Director of Hospital and Medical Staff Services, Chief of Staff to COO at Southcoast Health. “As our program continues to grow, I am grateful for our dedicated team of volunteers who willingly contribute their time and skills to make our mission of providing clinical excellence and a uniquely caring experience at Southcoast Health possible.”
