The true spirit of a community hospital is one of mutual support. We provide the health care you need and you help provide the support we need to bring you that care.

Consider the new Tobey Hospital a gift from you, your neighbors and people from across the Greater Wareham area. Your generosity made this possible.

"We have lived in and around Wareham for more than 20 years, raised our children here and have had the privilege of serving the community in many different ways," said Margherita Baldwin, a resident of Marion and co-chair of The Campaign for Tobey: A Legacy of Community Support.

"We could think of no better way to continue our support than to lead The Campaign for Tobey," said Margot Stone, also of Marion, who co-chaired the campaign. "Those who know Tobey best think of the hospital as the crown jewel of Southcoast Health System — and a crown jewel of our wonderful community."

The $12 million expansion project makes unprecedented surgical capabilities available to you and your family. Our new operating rooms are top grade — the best you will find anywhere in Massachusetts. Our new Intensive Care Unit has been specially designed for patient and family comfort while providing the most advanced monitoring and treatment. Together, they offer you the complex medical care that is today's gold standard — right in your own community.

"The community support for this campaign has been tremendous," said John B. Day, President & CEO of Southcoast Health System. "We never could have accomplished this without the generous support that so very many people have provided. From our own employees to our neighbors to our business leaders, this has been a total community effort, one of which we can all be very proud."

To date more than $5.18 million has been raised toward the new Tobey. More than 750 people have contributed.

"The outpouring of support for this project has allowed us to exceed our initial fundraising goals," said Barbara H. Mulville, CFRE, Vice President of External Affairs. "Of course, with any project, there is always more to accomplish and ongoing support is just as important."

We will continue our pledge to you that our exceptional, experienced medical team will have access to the latest medical technology and facilities so that you will have the level of health care you deserve.

We sincerely thank you for your important role in making this possible.
