Learn about the National Athlete Testing Program
Southcoast's certified athletic trainers work with student athletes on many area high school teams, offering expert, first-line care in the case of any sports injuries. All of the certified athletic trainers at Southcoast have specialized training and expertise in treating a wide range of athletic injuries.
Athletic trainers are an integral part of the overall athletics program, developing strength and conditioning programs throughout the year to often decrease and many times prevent athletic injuries.
The certified athletic trainers work closely with orthopedic surgeons, primary care physicians and many other allied health care professionals to rehabilitate student athletes following injury and focus on returning the athlete to his or her sport as soon as it is safely possible.
Southcoast has the largest hospital-based sports medicine program in New England with over 15 athletic trainers serving 13 area high schools and colleges including:
- Bourne High School.
