Our goal at Southeast Rehabilitation Center is to assist our patients in achieving as independent a lifestyle as possible. Our center is the only facility of its kind in the Greater Fall River area.
Southeast Rehabilitation Center, located at Charlton Memorial Hospital, provides inpatient care and rehabilitation for a number of diagnoses, including but not limited to the following:
- Stroke
- Spinal cord trauma
- Amputation
- Major multiple trauma
- Hip fracture with complicating medical problem
- Total joint replacement with complicating medical problem
- Brain injury
- Burns
- Other neurological disorders including, multiple sclerosis, ALS, myopathies, ParkinsonÕs and others.
- Cancer
Our patients receive the benefit of several hours of therapy each day, specialized rehab nursing care, and consultation provided by a physiatrist, a physician who specializes in rehabilitation medicine.
The team helps establish goals with each patient and their family, and together, we work very hard to help meet these goals.
Facts About Our Program
- Only hospital-based, inpatient rehab program in Greater Fall River.
- Two physiatrists Ð physicians who specialize in rehab medicine Ð lead our interdisciplinary teams of nurses and therapists.
- Team members include nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/ language pathologists, social workers, case managers and other specialists as needed. Adult nurse practitioner on staff.
- Accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Heathcare Organizations (JACHO.)
- Bilingual (Portuguese/ English) nurses and therapists and multi-lingual interpreters available. AT&T interpreter services available as needed for many languages.
- On-site dialysis treatment available.
- Neuropsychologist and rehabilitation psychiatrist available as needed to consult with patients and team members.
- Therapeutic and recreational activities programs provided.
- Vocational rehabilitation counseling available.
- Prosthetic and orthotic clinic for inpatients and outpatients.
- Wheelchair seating and positioning clinic for inpatients and outpatients.

- Route 24 South to Exit 5, President Avenue.
- Enter rotary, take first right onto President Avenue.

- Interstate 195 West to Exit 8B to Route 24 North.
