VNASM Programs

The Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Massachusetts was created in 1905 to respond to the high infant mortality rates and the spread of infectious diseases in the cities and towns of Greater Fall River and Taunton. Our services have evolved into a specialized field of health care requiring a highly skilled, dedicated team of professionals.
The VNA offers nursing care and disease management programs to treat complex wounds and cardiac patients. Telemonitoring is also provided to individuals requiring daily monitoring of vital signs, such as post-surgical patients, those on new medications or patients suffering from chronic disease. Our telemonitor partner is HomMed.
Rehabilitative Therapies include physical, speech and occupational therapies, as well as medical social work. These therapies help clients safely and effectively cope with disease and disability in the home setting.
Our Hospice and Palliative Care Programs provide compassionate care and support at home for terminally ill patients and their families. In addition, the hospice team will follow families for more than a year after a patient's death, offering education, remembrance and special events.
The VNA has two Adult Day Health Programs , located in Taunton, Mass., and Little Compton, R.I. These day care programs offer a medically supervised, supportive environment for the care of frail elderly and disabled adults. This provides much needed respite for caregivers, especially those caring for Alzheimer's patients.
Home Health Aide Services include assistance with activities of daily living, such as eating, grooming and personal care.
Additional programs offered by the VNA are annual flu clinics, which provide inoculations against influenza, and health screenings at local events and convenient locations throughout the community.
The Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Massachusetts has been providing quality care to you, your family and neighbors for nearly a century. Care that allows you to recuperate and cope with disease and disability in the most appropriate setting — your home.
