Pulmonary Rehabilitation Outpatient Program
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Outpatient Program of Southcoast Rehabilitation Services is a structured exercise and education program for individuals with pulmonary disease such as:
- Asthma
- Bronchitis
- Emphysema
- COPD
The program uses a multidisciplinary approach. Respiratory therapists, physical therapists, nurses, exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and social workers all participate in the program to bring the latest advances and information to each patient.
Through education and exercise, the pulmonary rehabilitation patient learns better breathing techniques and ways to manage their lung disease.
Program Information
- Individualized exercise program within a group setting and directed by health professionals.
- Oxygen saturation monitoring during exercise.
- Educational sessions covering many topics to help you better manage your lung disease.
- Smoking Cessation Programs are available. You must be smoke free prior to starting the outpatient program.
- Additional educational and support meetings for those who are interested.
