The RAPPP Peer Liaisons
Based on the fact that teens often seek out fellow peers when we are experiencing some frustration, worry or concern, RAPPP has developed strong recourses to help youth in these situations ... us!
As RAPPP's own Peer Liaisons we're here to help you!
You can come over to the RAPPP Center in the afternoons Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 5 p.m. (open until 7pm on Thursday!) at the Dartmouth Place, 49 State Road, Suite 105, in North Dartmouth.
You can also give us a shout when you see is us in the community or over at ASK A PEER.
Meet the Peers
Hello everyone! My name is Nasha Macedo and I am a 17-year-old young lady who attends New Bedford High School, where I am a junior. I have been a RAPPP Peer Liaison for over one year, but have been involved with the RAPPP Program for many. Since it started way back in October 2005 I have been involved with the RAPPP Youth Council and love it. The Y.C. is a way anyone between the ages of 11-18 years of age can help organize and run volunteer projects and service within our community. In my free time away from RAPPP I am a normal kid just like anyone of you so goodbye until next time!
Hi. I'm Saige Pires-Tavares. I am 15 years old and a sophomore at Bristol County Agricultural School. Ever since I was a little kid, I have been helping out within my community. When I found out about the RAPPP Program last year, I figured that it would be a great opportunity for me to interact with other students my age and help out my community. I am now in my second year as Peer Liaison and am excited for another great year of service, learning, and fun!
My name is Cameron Drouin. I'm 17 and attend New Bedford's Voc-Tech as a senior. I enjoy paintballing, drawing, playing soccer and hanging out with my friends. I have been involved with the RAPPP Program for a few months now and I became a Peer Liaison to benefit myself and my community by working in strong and growing program. This year, I hope to bring my own personal talents and skills to the program and become a valuable resource to my community.
My name is Jayvon Gomes. I am 17 years old and also a senior at GNB Voc-Tech where I study media technology. A few of my favorite things to do are play basketball, draw and play videogames. I'm also the newest Peer Liaison here at RAPPP and I got involved by my friend Cameron when RAPPP was creating the new Peaceworks Community Garden. The RAPPP Program is a great people and I was very impressed by the work they do for others. By joining the team, I hope to help my community as well and gain a sense of leadership and teamwork.
