Basic Training for Young Dads
A 12-hour mentoring program facilitated by men who are dads that will give young men (ages 13-23) the skills necessary for successful parenting and involvement in their children's lives and to prevent the recurrence of a secondary or subsequent adolescent pregnancy.
Classes are tailored to the specific needs of the enrolled participants. Program curriculum includes:
- Exploring the role of fatherhood in your life - and what is manhood?
- What are the demands, expectations, expectant father feelings.
- Prenatal concerns - his role in labor and delivery.
- Caring for your newborn or toddler.
- Relationships with the baby's mother.
- Young fathers' rights and responsibilities.
