Southcoast teams up with local YMCAs to offer monthly presentations on important health topics
February series to focus on heart health
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - Southcoast© Health System, in partnership with the, the Gleason Family YMCA, the New Bedford YMCA and the Bayside YMCA presents a monthly series focused on helping you and your family live a healthier lifestyle. The free health education program is designed to help you make healthier decisions and support your well-being.
Presentations will take place at each of the YMCA locations throughout the month with topics focusing on important health issues and will be presented by a Southcoast specialist with expertise in that field of medicine. In honor of National Heart Awareness Month, the February series will be led by cardiologists, Miret Ibrahim, MD, Philip Formica, MD and Robert Schwengel, MD, FACC. Various heart health topics will be discussed including cardiac risk factors, common cardiovascular conditions, advancements in treatments, and maintaining good cardiovascular health for a lifetime.

Led by: Dr. Robert Schwengel
