Stephan M. Becker, MD, and James D. Sullivan, MD, join Southcoast Urgent Care in Fairhaven
FAIRHAVEN, Mass. - Southcoast® Health System announced today that two new physicians, Stephan M. Becker, MD, and James D. Sullivan, MD, have joined Southcoast Urgent Care, part of the Southcoast Center for Primary and Specialty Care in Fairhaven.
The new Southcoast Urgent Care Center is now open to the public, treating adults and children seven days a week. Walk-ins are welcome with no appointment necessary. It is staffed by a specialized team of physicians, nurses, and medical assistants offering a full array of services including on-site radiology and laboratory services, basic orthopedics, gynecologic and minor surgical treatments as well as intravenous fluids and medications. Common reasons for visiting urgent care include: injuries such as strains, sprains and fractures; infections; animal bites; skin conditions; burns; lacerations; casting; contusions; cold or flu symptoms; and immunizations and vaccinations
Stephan M. Becker, MD
Stephan M. Becker, MD, is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va., where he also completed an internship and residency in pediatrics. He spent two years serving in the National Health Service Corps in Hollister, Calif., where he began his medical career as a pediatrician in private practice. Dr. Becker has been an emergency physician since 1985. He joined the staff at Morton Hospital & Medical Center in Taunton, in 1985, and served as the Emergency Department Medical Director at Morton from 1997 to 2009. He also served as stroke services director from 2004 to 2007.
Dr. Becker is board certified in pediatrics. He is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He has also served as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor.
Dr. Becker currently resides in Fairhaven.
James D. Sullivan, MD
James D. Sullivan, MD, is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. He completed a residency in primary care and internal medicine at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He has been an emergency physician in Washington, D.C. and at Massachusetts area hospitals for over two decades including Morton Hospital in Taunton since 1995.
Dr. Sullivan is board certified in internal medicine. He is certified in advanced trauma life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, and pediatric advanced life support.
Dr. Sullivan currently resides in Catumet.

The Urgent Care Center at Southcoast Center for Primary and Specialty Care is located at 208 Mill Road, Fairhaven, MA 02719. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
