Southcoast Center for Weight Loss now offers free informational sessions on weight loss surgery in Middletown
MIDDLETOWN, R.I - Beginning this September, Southcoast® Center for Weight Loss will now offer a free monthly informational session in Middletown on the risks and benefits of weight loss surgery, also known as bariatric surgery.
Learn more about the minimally invasive techniques for weight loss surgery offered at Southcoast during a free informational session on Wednesday, September 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hampton Inn & Suites, 317 West Main Road in Middletown. Additional seminars will be offered on a quarterly basis.
Weight loss surgery can not only help you lose weight, it can also improve your health, lengthen your life, and resolve many chronic conditions including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, acid reflux, urinary incontinence and migraines.
Millions of Americans fall into the category of clinically severe obesity - more than 100 pounds overweight with a body mass index greater than 40. Body mass index is a calculation of weight in relation to height.
Weight loss surgery has been endorsed by a consensus panel convened by the National Institutes of Health as the only effective means of inducing significant long-term weight loss for the vast majority of patients with morbid obesity.
The Southcoast Center for Weight Loss’s community-based program is designed to incorporate a thorough approach to weight loss surgery utilizing a team comprised of dietitians, psychologists, nurses and surgeons to provide a safe and comprehensive surgical weight loss program.
