Domino’s Pizza offers Southcoast blood donors a tasty incentive

Kick-off blood drive on July 2 at FUN 107/WBSM plaza in Fairhaven

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. —The Southcoast Blood Bank at St. Luke’s Hospital has teamed up again this year with area Domino’s Pizza stores in a “Pizza for a Pint” promotion during the month of July.

Anyone who donates blood at the Southcoast Blood Bank at St. Luke’s Hospital, or at any of the community blood drives hosted by the Southcoast Blood Bank during the month of July, will receive a certificate for a free large one-topping pizza redeemable at all Bristol County Domino’s locations. The offer is good for any pick-up order or can be combined with a home delivery order. The certificate will not be redeemable for home delivery orders of a large one-topping pizza only.

New this year! The Southcoast Blood Bank and Domino’s Pizza have teamed up with FUN 107, WBSM and Scramblers Breakfast, Bagel and Lunch to host a kick-off blood drive on Tuesday, July 2, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the FUN 107/ WBSM plaza, 22 Sconticut Neck Road in Fairhaven.

Morning refreshments will be provided by Scramblers Breakfast, Bagel and Lunch, with pizza provided by Domino’s beginning at 11 a.m. In addition to the free large one-topping pizza coupon, all who donate at the kick-off blood drive will be entered into a free raffle for a chance to win prizes that include family four-packs of tickets to the Pawtucket Red Sox, a Domino’s gift card, and a Ninety Nine Restaurant gift card.

Join FUN 107, WBSM, Domino’s Pizza, Scamblers Breakfast,Bagel and Lunch, and the Southcoast Blood Donor Van at this inaugural event as they help raise awareness around the importance of donating blood locally.

“We are grateful to our local Domino’s Pizza stores who step up each year to keep our local blood supply strong,” said John Laverty, MD, Medical Director of the Southcoast Blood Bank. “Domino’s commitment and support is a great gift to the community, especially during the summer months when blood donations tend to be down.”

You have a choice! Donate local.

The Southcoast Blood Bank is the only blood donation venue that directly supports the South Coast communities’ blood supply. When you donate blood at a Southcoast-sponsored blood drive you are helping to keep your local blood supply strong — so it is there when you need it.

“Domino’s Pizza is proud to partner with our local community blood bank during the month of July when the need for blood donations is the greatest,” said Nelson Hockert-Lotz, owner of the Domino’s Pizza stores on Kempton Street and Rockdale Avenue in New Bedford. “We hope our collaboration will be both a motivator and a thank you to people for rolling up their sleeves and pitching in this summer.”
All of the Bristol County franchise owners have joined Hockert-Lotz in this partnership, making the offer good at all Domino’s locations in Fall River, New Bedford, Somerset and Taunton.
