Charlton Memorial Hospital to host free seminar on new innovations in sinus surgery presented by otolaryngologist Wendy B.R. Stern, MD

FALL RIVER, Mass. — Charlton Memorial Hospital, part of Southcoast™ Health System, will host a free community seminar on new innovations in sinus surgery on Tuesday, May 14. The seminar will feature Balloon Sinuplasty™, a minimally invasive procedure that opens sinus passages relieving pain and pressure associated with chronic sinusitis.

The seminar will be presented by otolaryngologist Wendy B.R. Stern, MD, a surgeon who specializes in ear, nose and throat disorders.

Dr. Stern's presentation will include information on the facts about chronic sinusitis, common symptoms of chronic sinusitis, the benefits of Balloon Sinuplasty and how the new surgical technique works. The seminar will take place on Tuesday, May 14, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mooney Conference Room on the campus of Charlton Memorial Hospital. Attendees are asked to enter through the Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care building, located at the back of the hospital at 506 Prospect Street in Fall River. Follow signs to the Mooney Conference Room.

Dr. Stern is an otolaryngologist practicing in all aspects of ear, nose and throat care. Board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Dr. Stern has had an active practice for more than 20 years. She is the Chair of the Media & Public Relations Committee and the Secretary for the Board of Governors for the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Stern is also a board member and past president of the Massachusetts Society of Otolaryngology. Her office is located at Northeast ENT, 299 Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth.
