Southcoast Hospitals welcome New Year's babies
Update, January 1, 2013, 3 p.m.: Photos added of babies at St. Luke's and Charlton.
Note: This news release will be updated when Tobey Hospital welcomes it's first baby of 2013.
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — The first New Year's baby born in the South Coast region arrived at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford at 12:51 a.m. on January 1, 2013.
Crystal Beltre and John Santiago, of New Bedford had a baby girl, Katelyne Darlene Santiago, weighing 4 pounds, 6 ounces and 17.5 inches long. This is the couple's first child.

Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River welcomed a baby boy at 4:52 a.m. Baby Wyatt John Howland was born to Caite and Tim Howland of Dartmouth. Wyatt weighs 5 pounds, 10 ounces and is 17.75 inches long. This is the couple's second child.

So far, no babies have been born today at Tobey Hospital in Wareham.
All three Southcoast™ Hospitals' New Year's babies will receive gift baskets filled with baby toys and clothes donated by the St. Luke's & Charlton Auxiliaries and the Tobey Hospital Guild.
