Cynthia Cunningham Wicks named President of Southcoast Physicians Network

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — Southcoast™ Health System has named Cynthia Cunningham Wicks as President of Southcoast Physicians Network. Southcoast Physicians Network, a corporation with Southcoast Health System as its sole corporate member, is a community-based physician network of primary care and specialty care private physician practices and Southcoast affiliated practices.

In her role new role, Wicks will provide leadership and oversight of all financial and operational aspects of Southcoast Physicians Network. She will also play a key role in the ongoing growth and development of Southcoast's accountable care organization.

Before joining Southcoast, Wicks was Vice President of Healthcare Network Strategy for Capital District Physicians' Health Plan in Albany, N.Y., where she was responsible for establishing and executing provider network strategy, developing new payment models, and leading staff directly engaged in provider contract negotiations, credentialing, system set up and day-to-day relationship management. Prior to that, Wicks previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Operations for One Call Medical Inc., Parsippany, N.J.

Wicks received a Master in Finance from Rensselaer Hartford Graduate Center in Hartford, Conn., a Master in Health Administration from Duke University in Durham, N.C., and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.

Wicks resides in Marion with her husband, Kurt, and their two children.
