Stephen Mitchell elected chair of St. Luke's Hospital Business Council

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — Southcoast™ Health System and Southcoast Hospitals Group has announced that Stephen Mitchell has been elected as the chair of the St. Luke's Hospital Business Council.

As the chair of the St. Luke's Business Council, Mitchell and his fellow council members help to educate the community about the local delivery of health care services at Southcoast and how these services effect the community. The council also assists with fundraising events and outreach efforts.

Mitchell is the Business Development Executive for The Sylvia Group of Insurance Agencies in Dartmouth, with more than 17 years of experience in the financial services industry. He holds a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7, 6, and 63 license in addition to the Massachusetts Life Insurance license. Mitchell's expertise lies in the areas of personal and commercial wealth accumulation, credit and asset preservation strategies relative to investment and insurance planning.

Mitchell is a 2012 Graduate of the Leadership Southcoast program. He is a current member of the Dartmouth Education Foundation and serves on the New Bedford Yacht Club Finance Committee. He is a former Town of Dartmouth Finance Committee Member.

Mitchell resides in Dartmouth with his wife, Erica, and their daughter, Gwenyth.
