Southcoast Rehab opens new Brain & Spine Rehab clinic
New clinic will focus on spine, neurologic and balance disorders
DARTMOUTH, Mass. — Southcoast Rehabilitation Services, part of Southcoast Health System, has opened a new outpatient clinic at the Southcoast Brain & Spine Center in Dartmouth. This final piece of the center will complete the region's only comprehensive site for the care of patients with neurological brain and spine disorders.
The collaboration of rehabilitation professionals with neurosurgeons, neurologists, physiatrists and pain management physicians will provide the community with a wide range of surgical and non-surgical treatment options for neurologic issues and spine pain.
"The ability to offer on-site rehabilitation services within the Brain & Spine Center enables us to provide an integrated care model with our physicians who practice in the building," said Jennifer Randall, Director of Southcoast Rehabilitation Services. "Our ability to communicate is enhanced by being in the same location. It is truly multi-disciplinary care. This model will result in our patients receiving the most comprehensive and effective management of a wide range of brain and spine disorders."
The new site offers comprehensive rehabilitation services with a focus on spine, neurological and balance disorders, as well as providing rehabilitation for other injuries and conditions. Additionally, Southcoast's Occupational Health rehab program will also be located on site, providing specialized physical therapy, hand therapy and work conditioning for patients injured on the job.
"A patient's recovery can depend highly on finding therapists with the specialized skill to treat their injury or illness," said Lisen Cameron, Southcoast Brain & Spine Rehab Site Manager. "At the Southcoast Brain & Spine Center, patients can benefit from our specialized rehabilitation experts who will design programs to meet their specific rehabilitation needs."
Services at the new site will be provided by a seasoned team of clinicians who collectively offer more than 200 years of rehabilitation experience with expertise in areas related to the brain and spine.
