Auxiliary of St. Luke's Hospital will host "Cirque du St. Luke's" to benefit Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — The Auxiliary of St. Luke's Hospital will hold its annual gala on Friday, August 17, with proceeds to benefit the Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care's Fairhaven site.
The theme of this year's event is "Cirque du St. Luke's" with entertainment provided by Overhead Arts Aerialist performing to music from Phantom of the Opera.
The event will kick off with hors d'oeuvres beginning at 6 p.m. and will take place at Cotali Mar Restaurante, 1178 Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford. Tickets are $75 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling 508-961-5752 ($40 of the ticket price is tax deductible). Hors d'oeuvres will include cheese and crackers, seasonal fruit, petite cod fish cakes and stuffed mushrooms paired with a wine selection. Dinner will include a garden salad with a choice of New England baked scrod, chicken pesto or roast pork loin, each served with steamed asparagus and Boulangere potatoes paired with a wine selection The dessert table will be paired with a wine selection. Wine for the event has been donated by Douglas Wine & Spirits.
The event will also feature a silent auction.
The Auxiliary of St. Luke's has pledged to raise $250,000 to benefit the Southcoast Centers for Cancer Fairhaven site. To date, the Auxiliary has raised $70,000 towards this goal and the proceeds from this event will go towards this $250,000 pledge.
